Born in Tokyo, Japan, Miho Tsuruoka is a photographer mostly specialised in marine life and underwater environments. She is a co-founder of ESA (European Scuba Agency) Worldwide, currently lives and works in Sardinia Island, Italy.
After she studied visual design and filmmaking at the university in Tokyo, she started her carrier as a model and a portrait photographer.
Her carrier as a scuba diver started when she became a diver in 1994, and professionally an open water scuba instructor in 1998, until now she has more than 7000 log dives include: Japan, Norway, UK, Ireland, USA, Egypt, Sudan, Mexico, Belize, Cuba, Capo Verde, Philippines, Maldives, Indonesia, Cocos Island and Galapagos.
She started underwater photography in 1997 with Nikonos V then she took a long break with underwater photography working as a scuba diving instructor.
In 2011, she restarted underwater photography, she constantly keeps her number of dives with her camera more than 200 a year.
Her publish works, and interviews include: Sardegna 20 Storie di Natura(Carlo Delfino Editore), SUB Underwater Magazine, La Rivista della Natura, Subacqueo, Sereno Variabile (RAI TV), Nuova Sardegna, l’Unione Sarda, PSE Editore. She is a head of the judges of “IN&OUT” photo contest for six years since 2012 in Sardinia, Italy.
